Buy a Spyker bond, get a Venator

Crowd-funding projects are quickly emerging as the way to get things done in the tech business, and the idea is even jumping into other fields as well. But it hasn't exactly caught on just yet in the automotive industry. A few months ago we reported on a crowd-funding campaign to revive the Castle Three Motor Company to build a retro trike roadster similar to the Noah Joseph

In Detail: Land Rover Defender DC100 Concepts

Next to the Mercedes G-Class, the Land Rover Defender could be one of the oldest new trucks for sale (although, you can't buy it in the U.S.). The Defender's potential replacement, the DC100 concept, represents Land Rover's most overdue refresh. Making up for lost time, Land Rover has ambitious plans for the DC100, including some state of the art technology.

Double-O Uh-Oh! Ford forced to yank "Casino Royale" ad for Focus

We bring you yet another example of people getting bent out of shape over what appears to us as innocuous advertising. This time it's Ford of Europe, which has been running a commercial for its Focus Zetec Climate model using clips from the movie Casino Royale. As we all know, Ford had great product placement in the new Bond flick, which featured Aston Martin's new DBS as 007's main ride, as well as a new Ford Mondeo as his rental

The details (and pictures) on Bond's crashed Aston

We finally got to watch Casion Royale the other day and were very impressed with the new Bond – clearly a darker and more mature double-O than previous ones who were cast as cartoonish philanderers. In addition to the new Bond, the series also received

Piloted by Roger Moore in the classic 1981 film, "For Your Eyes Only", the duck managed to steal the top spot in the poll, which was done as part of an upcoming Jeremy Clarkson special, MPH Show '06.

'Esprit' badge will be revived on Lotus supercar

Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley let slip in an interview with PistonHeads that the Hethel-based automaker would indeed be calling its upcoming mid-engine supercar the Esprit, a name that graced the flanks of the supercar for which Lotus is most well known. The slip was entirely unintentional, as a PR person next to the CEO corrected his boss on the reference, saying that what he meant to say was 'the mid-engined sports car". Sure, right.

Ascari KZ1 gets big break in film

A public vote held by the British auto rag CAR has landed the Ascari KZ1 supercar the leading role in an upcoming Hollywood remake of The Persuaders, originally a British TV series from the early Seventies that starred Roger Moore and Tony Curtis. The KZ1 beat choices from Lamborghini, Ferrari and even Aston Martin, which just rolled out its new Bond car last week, the John Neff
